10/1/11 – Angel Island Trip
This past Saturday, we headed out on the ferry to Angel Island, a historical landmark that was once the immigration center of the west for immigrants coming to America. On the ferry ride over, we had a chance to see many other famous SF landmarks, including the Bay Bridge, Golden Gate bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf, and Alcatraz Island which was once a maximum security prison for the worst of criminals. Once we landed at Angel Island, we went on a hike to see the immigration center where the immigrants used to live and we were able to read many heart wrenching personal stories. Afterwards, we hiked back down for a delicious BBQ lunch and enjoyed each others’ fellowship along with the nice sunny weather.
