Visitors can at once experience California’s rich history and witness the making of history through the modern lawmaking process.

Following the tour of the Capitol, we will also visit Old Sacramento, an unique National Historical Landmark where they preserved the old buildings and roads from the 1800′s.   You can see how an old Western town looked like 150 years ago.

    • Lunch at a Japanese buffet restaurant

We are really excited to announce a new schedule for our VSM gathering.
Starting this week, we will be meeting on Sundays in Alameda.  Since
there are so many visiting scholars with children, we had thought it
would be wonderful if the children can participate in the academic
enrichment/tutuoring program through Impact and our church’s
children’s program (Joyland) on Sundays.

In addition, we are planning to provide English conversation program
for adults  as well before we have bible study on Sunday.

Impact is an non-profit organization that provides academic enrichment
program to children at Gracepoint’s church building on Sunday
mornings.   You can check out more about Impact through its website,

Joyland is the name of Gracepoint Church’s children’s program.  You

On Christmas day, we had a special Christmas dinner at Paul and Mary’s house for those who were around.  There was a ton of delicious food including baked ham and roast beef followed by some delicious homemade desserts.  For those who were not able to join us, we wish all of you a merry Christmas and a happy new year!

This Saturday, we had an opportunity to visit Neighborhood Church and attend their annual Christmas musical production. We had an enjoyable time as we saw the Christmas nativity story brought to life with impressive backdrops, and professional acting and singing.  Afterwards, we had our annual Christmas party with delicious food and desserts, followed by a fun time of doing the Christmas gift exchange.  We closed off the night by singing Christmas hymns and being reminded through the songs what Christmas is truly about. Today we had the opportunity to enjoy a very special presentation by our Joyland children’s department about the true story of Christmas and what Christmas is all about.  It was a night filled with excitement and lots of laughter as the children, including some our very own VSM children, performed various skits and songs so that we could all appreciate more the true meaning of Christmas.
